James Nelis received his license to practice law in November,1994. He joined the firm of Gardi, Haught, Fischer & Bhosale in August, 2021, after 17 years of solo practice. He is a life-long resident of the northwest suburbs of Chicago, currently residing with his two children and his wife of 26 years.
James earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. He is a graduate of the John Marshall Law School, which merged with the University of Illinois Chicago in August, 2019, and is now known as the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, in June, 1994.
Through his addition to Gardi, Haught, Fischer & Bhosale, Ltd., James brings twenty-seven years of legal experience in various aspects of business and real estate law. In that time, he has represented both large and small businesses entities with all their needs, from inception to dissolution, creation to sale or merger. Through his work in real estate investment and development and business investment and finance, he has acquired substantial knowledge of banking and financial regulations, private funding practices, securities regulations related to public and private offerings, and asset protection strategies usable by the smallest of businesses to the largest of companies, all of which he now offers to our clientele.
James volunteers his time as a member of the board of directors for Northwest Housing Partnership, a not-for-profit organization, primarily dedicated to providing housing for low to medium income families James currently serves as the vice-chair and treasurer.
